We need volunteers!
This coming week, Thursday 18th – Saturday 20th November, we are taking part in the National Collections with Tesco. We are very short on volunteers to fill the slots and are calling for anyone who is available for a couple of hours on any of those days to volunteer at one of the following stores:
Tesco Surrey Quays
Tesco Old Kent Road
How it works:
- Volunteers come to the supermarket in groups of 2-4 people for two hours slots between 09:00 – 18:00.
- Volunteers stand at the entrance to the store, greeting customers and giving out shopping lists of our most urgently needed items.
- Volunteers then collect donations as people leave the store.
This is a great opportunity to help the Southwark Foodbank collect food ahead of Christmas and engage with people about the foodbank and the issues so many of our clients face.
The slots we have to fill are below:
Thursday: 09:00- 18:00 (Surrey Quays and Old Kent Road Tesco) (5 slots)
Friday: 13:00 – 18:00 (Surrey Quays Tesco) (3 slots)
09:00 – 18:00 (Old Kent Road Tesco) (5 slots)
Saturday: 09:00 – 13:00 (Surrey Quays Tesco) (2 slots)
09:00 – 11:00 (Old Kent Road Tesco) (1 slot)
