Easter #40for40 Appeal

25th February 2020

As we celebrate Pancake Day and many of us in our community prepare for Lent and Easter, we are encouraging supporters of the foodbank to consider helping us raise £2000 over the next 40 days.

This Easter, we are appealing for support in the form of funds rather than food. We had a good Christmas, with so many food donations that we have reserves for a few months, but we are low on funds to help distribute that food.

Give up 40p for 40 days

We are asking everybody to consider giving up 40 pence per day for the 40 days of Lent. If you put aside 40 pence per day for 40 days, you will end up with £16 at the end of it. Add Gift Aid to your donation and you’ve got £20 to give to the foodbank! If just 100 people take part in this, we can reach a target of  £2000!

This is a wonderful way to get your family and friends involved and adds a daily practice as a reminder to think of others. Get your school, church, business or community group involved!

Lent begins on Wednesday 26 February and ends on Thursday 6 April. Find an old jam jar or suitable container and start collecting! We’ll even give you this handy label to download and print for your jar. If you want a poster, well, we’ve got that sorted too. Download here. Donate your final amount online here
