Christmas 2019 Collections with Tesco

28th November 2019

A huge thank you to everyone involved in our Tesco Christmas collections!

On the 21st – 23rd November, we were part of Tesco’s National Collections for Christmas. This is one of our key collections for the year as it helps us to stock up ahead of Christmas with items we need to continue supporting people through winter. We held two collections, one at the Old Kent Road Tesco, and the second at Surrey Quays Tesco.

We collected 3,927.96 Kg of food and             £1 807.16 in donations over the three days at both stores!

This collection will go a long way to supporting people in Southwark who face hardship and have added financial strain this Christmas.

We had the support of volunteers from UK Power Networks, Storyful, Anthesis, Peter Hills Primary School, the 3rd Camberwell Scouts and many individual volunteers who manned the collection points and handed out Christmas shopping lists to shoppers and collected their donations. Every single person brought enthusiasm and energy to the collections, greeting every customer with a smile. We are so grateful for the support they gave and to every single shopper who supported us by donating food or money.

We also want to say a big thank you to the managers and staff at both Tesco stores for being so supportive and helpful during the collections!

Thank you!
